December 2016 Staff Meeting

On the agenda:

 

•   Introduce our new HR professional Michelle Porreca

 Improving HR practices – stronger communication better clarity

 Supporting the CRI with rollout of the new handbook and transition with new policies and procedures

 She is available by email anytime for questions and will visit CRI twice monthly for a half day (schedule will be announced).

•   Updates on staff handbook and payroll transition to ADP

We will be transitioning at some point in January.

Restructuring payroll process + constructing CRI policy handbook.

Next week – look for emails about instructions and training on new ADP payroll process.

 

•   Changes in Programs

Kane is moving out of his leadership role in programming after 5 years and moving into a new position in Major Gifts and Special Projects.

Nonna is transitioning to Manager of Programs.

Pat is transitioning to Manager of Corporate Rowing.

Rachel is transitioning to Corporate and Foundation Grants Coordinator

Yael is transitioning to Annual Fund Manager.

 

•   January 6th – MVP training.  Save the Date

Mentors for Violence Prevention (MVP) Strategies to come to CRI – mandatory for full time employees.

Training 2/3 day on leadership and bystander training.

 

•   Discuss communication overview for 2017

Communication meeting 10am Thursday, 12/18 in Bruce’s office. More coordinated effort in 2017 for communication strategies. Looking for a full time communications manager.

 

•   Holiday celebration plans:  

      The venerable Yankee Swap? 

      Other schemes to celebrate the season?  

      Canadian Curling in Weston + Yankee Swap - price limit $11- before Christmas

      Curling after holidays – Keep the swap.  Date TBD

 

   

    Reorganizing sculling oar system – email Adam suggestions for reorganization.

 

    Annual Meeting tonight 12/7 – making an effort to sit with people you don’t know.

    Speeches and elections for new board members.

                        - 14/15 board members, 7 reelected every year
